Round Cribs: Both Pretty and Practical

As a new parent, you should always do your homework about baby products before buying into the latest trend. Some fads are just that – impractical flights of fancy that are overpriced and lack any discernable function. But round cribs are much more than just a flash in the pan. Aside from its obvious visual appeal, as evidenced by luxurious canopies and innovative wooden designs, the round baby crib is practical as well.
While traditional rectangular cribs are typically anchored to a wall or even placed in the corner of a room, round cribs can be placed in the center of the nursery. This allows a newborn to command a full panoramic view of his environment rather than being limited to just two or three sides. From a safety standpoint, round cribs feature more surface area than rectangular cribs. The lack of corners means less chance that the baby will get stuck between the mattress and frame.
